Who are the Sheffield Steelers?

STAR Six

GOALTENDER- TARAN KOZUN
An outstanding Man of the Match performance kicked off a superb weekend for not only Taran Kozun, but the Cardiff Devils also. Kozun faced 41 shots, allowing only one goal. Kozun boasted a 97.56% save percentage as he backstopped the Devils to a huge win over the Giants. While the damage was done in the opening 10 minutes, Cardiff were under pressure for the remainder of the game and it took an incredible effort from Will Cullen to to beat the Canadian.
On Saturday Kozun put in another heroic performance facing 34 shots and only allowing 2 goals against league leaders Guildford. With 94.12% save percentage, Kozun ensured that Cardiff were able to take all 4 points this weekend despite their depleted defence.

RIGHT DEFENCE- MARCUS CRAWFORD
Crawford was an integral part of a depleted Cardiff defence that fought hard to gain all 4 points this weekend. Crawford scored an assist on Cardiff’s third goal against the Giants on Friday. With a +\- of +1 Crawford was one of any Cardiff d-man that could have made it on this list. Big blocks and good break-up play, along with helping out on offence ensured Crawford played an integral part in the Devils win over the Giants.
Against Guildford Crawford scored himself another point playing a part in the build up to Cardiffs fourth goal that sealed the win over Guildford. With another +\- of +1 it shows it pays to have Marcus Crawford on the ice.

LEFT DEFENCE- WILL CULLEN
Cullen was the only name on the scoresheet for the Giants after an evening to forget for Belfast. Although Cullen with his goal showed why he is valuable not only going forward but defensively as he boasted a +/- of +1 on Friday after his superb goal beating a red-hot Taran Kozun.
On Saturday Cullen has another superb performance with a +\- of +2 it shows things happen when Cullen is on the ice. In what was a weekend to forget for the Belfast Giants defence Will Cullen stood out from the pack.

CENTRE- BRANDON WHISTLE
Brandon Whistle had a huge weekend, showing you do not need to be on the top line to have a big impact on the game. With an assist on Saturday against Glasgow and 2 goals on Sunday against Mancheste, Whistle finished the weekend with a +/- of +3. On top of this Whistle boasted a Face Off win rate of 52% against Glasgow and 64% against Manchester.
Whistle proved that he is an asset to the Sheffield Steelers and surely warrants more ice time in a Steelers side that finds themselves at the heart of the title race.

WINGER - TREVOR COX
Cox played an integral part in Cardiffs huge 4 point weekend, taking points of two of the top 4.
On Saturday Trevor Cox came up with 1 assist and finished with a +\- of +1. What was more impressive from Cox was his speed and constantly asking questions of the Belfast Giants defence with his blistering pace.
On Saturday another huge performance from Trevor Cox seen him net 1 goal and gain 2 assists finishing the game with a +\- of  +2. In a weekend that saw Cardiff net 8 goals, Trevor Cox played an active part oin 4 of them goals. His performances this weekend show that things happen for Cardiff when Trevor Cox is on the ice.
After another assist on Wednesday night in the 3-2 loss to the Clan, Trevor Cox has scored points in 11 of his last 12 games.

WINGER- PETER CRINELLA
In what was  mixed weekend for the Guildford Flames, Peter Crinella stood out from the crowd with 2 goals and 2 assists this weekend and a combined +\- of +1.
In a weekend where Guildford scored 6 goals, Crinella played a part in 4 of theses. On Saturday he played apart in each of Guildford’s goals against Cardiff bagging a goal and an apple in what was a battle between 1st and 3rd in the league. On Sunday Crinella replicated this performance bagging another goal and another apple in Guildford’s overtime win against the Coventry Blaze. Although, it was his unassisted goal against the Blaze in overtime to seal the win for Guildford and ensure they remain in the drivers seat of the title race. Making a fantastic poke check and marching up the left wing to put the puck past Holsa, Crinella certainly earned himself a place on this list!

HONOURABLE MENTIONS: MARK COOPER (BELFAST GIANTS), MATTHEW MYERS (NOTTINGHAM PANTHERS), STEVEN MCPARLAND (GLASGOW CLAN), ANTHONY DELUCA (MANCHESTER STORM), REECE KELLY (CARDIFF DEVILS).
